Foreign Office, July 30, 1914. I TRANSMIT to you herewith copy of a despatch from Mr. Cheetham, stating that the Egyptian Government are ready, if formally invited, to adhere to the Inter- national Opium Convention.

I should be glad if you would approach the Netherlands Government on the subject with a view to a formal invitation being sent to the Egyptian Government.
